NEW RELEASE:
2006 Bountiful Blanc, Mencarini Vineyards, Lodi

Our Bountiful Blanc is our first release of a white blend, and just in time for summer. Both varietals, Symphony and Sauvignon Blanc, come from local vineyards on the east side of Lodi.

The pale straw colored wine starts with your typical floral nose, characteristic of the Symphony varietal. After slight aeration, bright fruit flavors of apricot and freshly cut grass surround the glass reminiscent of summertime. Our Bountiful Blanc is a well balanced, multi-purposed wine with just the right amounts of acid and natural fruit flavors.

The fresh and fruity nose combined with the long fruity finish make this wine the perfect summer aperitif. Enjoy this wine at a barbeque or picnic, on the water or in the woods, with light hors d’oeuvres, any fish or chicken dish, or just enjoy a glass by itself!

NEW RELEASE:
2005 Merlot, Sierra Foothills

Our 2005 Sierra Foothills Merlot was brought to us by our neighbors at Perry Creek in Amador County. The hot dry summer and cool fall evenings make this an ideal location for full bodied Merlot to reach full potential.

The first layer of this deep blue/red colored wine releases aromas of black cassis, leather and vanilla. With the second layer, you will taste a light cherry and oak essence which will open to big bodied tannins bringing you into you third layer of a well balanced and long lasting finish.

As a whole, this Merlot is incredibly well structured, making if perfect for most heavy dishes. Enjoy this wine with any thick pasta, roast or other red meats.

NEW RELEASE:
2005 Old Vine Zinfandel, Mencarini Vineyards, Lodi

Lodi holds a namesake for wonderfully sought after Old Vine Zinfandels. These Old Vines demand a kind of respect when caring for their fruit, thus yield a juice rich, spicy and perfectly structured. This relationship can serve as a metaphor for the Mencarni family, who has served many generations, passing on their vines to third generation brothers, Dino and Ron.

Our Old Vine Zinfandel surrounds the palate sound and strurdy, eveloped in spicy clove and juicy berry concentrate. Mature oak tannins frame a well balanced, sturdy wine with moderate alcohol that enhances the lengthy finish. We have created a wine to sit and think about.

Enjoy this wine with a variety of foods from fresh tomato sauces on pastas, your favorite Italian food to grilled meats and BBQ or with and array of unique and strong cheeses. We also suggest simply enjoying this wine by itself; a true expression of a classical American Wine!

NEW RELEASE:
2005 Syrah, Mencarini Vineyards, Lodi

This is our first Syrah coming out of our own Mencarini Family Vineyards, and a proud completion for Abundance Vineyards.

The deep garnet color of this wine is typical of most Syrahs, however the plum and oak nose of this wine set it apart from its competition.

Our 2005 Syrah has rich plum flavors balanced with ample tannins and oak. The long, fruity finish of this wine proves why it is a perfect example of Syrah, rich in flavor with a robust yet balanced structure.

Enjoy this wine with rich meat dishes, wild game, and anything in a heavy sauce.

2005 Abundantly Rich Red, Mencarini Vineyards, Lodi

The 2005 ABUNDANTLY RICH RED is made entirely from our Mencarini Family grapes in Lodi. This vintage of our famous Rich Red is another stellar addition to our reputation for producing outstanding, value oriented wines.

The rich blend of old California varietals Zinfandel and Carignane leaves nothing to the imagination. This wine is loaded with intense fruity aromas of Bing cherries, plums and blackberries in contrast with chocolate and toasty aromas contributed by the judicious use of oak barrels. The mouth feel is full with soft, ripe tannins, and the finish is long and almost sweet without being sugary.

This is a “zero intimidation” wine that can be enjoyed with a variety of foods. Cheers!

2004 Mencarini Petite Sirah, Mencarini Vineyards, Lodi

The 2004 Petite Sirah is our very first release and a proud accomplishment. It is an opulent blend of 15% Lodi Zinfandel and 85% Lodi Petite Sirah, both from the Mencarini Vineyards.

The dark garnet plum color of this wine is enough to get any connoisseur interested. On the nose, this Petite opens with slightly spice and coffee aromas and continues with ripe Bing cherries and blackberries. With further aeration of the wine, the aroma profile develops with more ripened fruit flavors overpowering the spice. The mouth feel is well balanced for a young wine. The fuit flavors continue to ripen and start to pop while the finish leaves you wanting a second glass.

This wine would be best enjoyed with any beef or lamb dish, or even your favorite grilled eggplant recipe. Cheers!

2005 Santa Barbara Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County

Santa Barbara County has long been known for its extraordinary conditions for growing certain wine grapes. The east to west valleys serve as weather barriers, allowing the fog and cooler climate to come in and keep the scorching heat and dry weather out. This allows time for the grapes to fully ripen over a longer period of time, which ultimately brings more complexity to the wine.

Our 2005 Santa Barbara Chardonnay first brings a hearty citrus flavor with grapefuit and tangerine. The layers that follow bring more of the tropical flavors with hints of peach, banana and mango. Upon finishing your glass you will find a smooth and bright ending, which is why we consider this to be a spectacular summer wine.

Enjoy this wine with a light and flavorful fish or pork dish.

2002 California Merlot

The 2002 California Merlot is our very first release and a proud accomplishment. It is an opulent blend of 18% French Camp Syrah from Paso Robles and 82% Merlot from the Mencarini Vineyards in Lodi.

On the nose, this Merlot opens with slightly toasty and smoky aromas and continues with ripe Bing cherries and plums. With further aeration of the wine, the aroma profile develops with the addition of some mineral notes, classic varietal Merlot “dustiness” and slightly earthy nuances. The mouth feel is well balanced and remarkably soft for a young wine, and the finish is medium to long with overall fruit impression.

2000 Syrah, French Camp, Paso Robles

Walk out to the edge of the ridge where these vines grow, and gaze. Before you stretches the tribal land of the Chumash, and the ranches of the Rancheros. You can feel an Old California that only comes in glimpse now. And in this wide open sky, French Camp Syrah basks.

This wine opens first with a lovely nose of blackberries, and further in reveals a background of plums and blueberries. The flavors are of the same fruits with increasing depth and intensity, while the tannin profile is multi-layered adding support and a lasting finish.

Enjoy this wine with a variety of foods such as risotto with saffron, paella, salad nicoise or a variety of poultry and pork dishes.
